A 13-year-old old female was conveyed to the hospital last night after falling off her bicycle.

Police were called at approximately 7:00 pm with reports that a youth had fallen off her mountain bike outside the Winnellie Shops, rendering her unconscious.

Police and St John Ambulance members attended the scene where it was established that she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with minor injuries and was later released.

Police would like to take this opportunity to remind people young and old to always wear an ADR (Australian Design Rules) approved helmet when riding a bicycle.
