Vehicles interfered with–Alice Springs

Police

Police are investigating damage to ten vehicles at the Alice Springs Town Council compound at the weekend.

Staff arrived at the Wilkinson Street compound around 5am this morning to find all vehicles in the yard had windows smashed. It appears offenders broke into the compound by prising apart some of the fence surrounding the yard. They then smashed windows on all ten vehicles before rummaging through them.

It is unclear if anything has been stolen at this stage. Offenders also unsuccessfully attempted to break-into a store room at the site.

Forensic crews attended and police investigations are continuing.

Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the weekend is asked to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
