Vehicle Fire - Berrimah

Police

Just before 8:00pm last night Police and Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a vehicle fire at Caltex Service Station in Berrimah.

It appears the 26-year-old male owner arrived at the service station to refuel when he noticed smoke and flames under the vehicle. He alerted the console operator who immediately shut down the bowsers.

Police and Fire units attended the scene to find the Nissan Skyline Coupe engulfed in flames near bowsers at the service station. Police redirected traffic for a short time while Fire Service personnel extinguished the blaze.

At this stage there appears to be no suspicious circumstance surrounding the fire and it is believed an electrical fault was the cause. The vehicle valued at $8000 was completely destroyed in the fire. The service station sustained minor heat damage to the roof.
