Just after 11:00 pm last night police were notified of a single vehicle crash on Tiger Brennan drive at Hidden Valley.

The 23-year-old driver of the silver Holden Commodore allegedly swerved to avoid something on the road, before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into an embankment on the side of the road.

St John Ambulance attended the scene and conveyed the man to Royal Darwin Hospital with possible spinal injuries.

The driver was subjected to a road side breath test and returned negative results; police are continuing investigations into the cause of the accident.
