Vehicle Crash - Adelaide River

Police

Adelaide River Police arrested a 26-year-old Western Australian man after attending a vehicle roll over approximately three kilometres south of Adelaide River on the weekend.

It is alleged the man rolled a stolen vehicle as a result of a tyre blow out about 9:00am on Saturday. The offender refused to attend the local Clinic or Police Station and hitched a lift from good Samaritans that stopped at the scene.

He was later reported to be in the vicinity of the Ringwood Rd turn off on the Stuart Highway 26 km north of Adelaide River.

Adelaide River members located the offender short distance north before being led on a two kilometre foot chase through bushland. He was apprehended a short time later and conveyed to Adelaide River Clinic for medical treatment to minor lacerations.

The vehicle was stolen from Nullagine in WA on 17 August and was involved in a service station drive off in Kununurra on August 23.

The man has been charged in relation to the following offences, and is due to appear in Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
