A 37-year-old female remains in a critical condition at Royal Darwin Hospital after she was involved in a vehicle accident yesterday.
It is believed that the victim and a 30-year-old male driver were travelling in Palmerston in a white Toyota Prado at approximately 4:30 pm when the vehicle turned off University Avenue and onto Palmerston Circuit.
The victim has then fallen from the passenger side and was run over by the vehicle.
The male left the scene to report the incident to police and returned a short time later.
Police and St John Ambulance personnel attended the scene and conveyed her to Hospital, having suffered serious head injuries.
The driver was arrested and charged with recklessly endangering life and was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 03 November.
