The 36-year-old female victim told police she was walking along Paterson Street around 9.15pm on Wednesday, November 25, when she was followed by a man who then physically and sexually assaulted her behind the Mobil Service Station.

Police issued a Comfit on Friday and the alleged offender was arrested on Sunday. He has been charged with sexual assault and aggravated assault and will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court tomorrow. (Tuesday Dec 1)

Police are still appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Mobil Service Station at the time of the attack to come forward. Anyone with information should phone Tennant Creek Police on 131 444.
