Unlawful entry charges - Darwin

Members of the Commander's Tactical Team have arrested a 23-year-old male in relation to numerous unlawful entries that have occurred throughout Darwin during the last few months.

It is alleged that that 23-year-old was involved in 12 unlawful entries from 9 May to 4 June throughout Wulagi, Leanyer, Marrara, Malak, Anula and Jingili.

Stolen items from the effected locations included alcohol, cash and electrical items.

The total value of the stolen property is approximately $70,000.

Members conducted patrols, followed up on leads and continued their investigations, subsequently locating the offender at a house in Malak.

He has since been charged with:

Enter dwelling with intent to commit crime (x11)
Stealing (x12)
Criminal Damage (x12)
Criminal deception (x1)
Trespass (x1)

He was remanded in custody and is to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.

Further investigations are continuing into possible co-offenders.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said this is a timely reminder with the onset of the school holidays that people should ensure their house is secure whilst they are at work and to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhoods.
