Unlawful entry arrest – Wulagi

Members from the Commander's Tactical Team have charged a 48-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry that occurred early yesterday morning.

It is alleged that at approximately 3:00 am the male offender smashed through a glass window, gaining access to the staff room of the Wulagi Primary School.

The alarms sounded and as the offender fled the scene, he was witnessed by the caretaker running off along Brolga Street.

Casuarina police members apprehended him a short time later and he has since been charged with enter a building with intent, damage property, trespass and was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court 26 May.

Acting Senior Sergeant Andy Bedwell of the Commander's Tactical Team said that this was yet another quick apprehension for police.

"I hope this sends a clear message to all would be offenders that we are out in force at all hours of the day and night and regardless of the offence, we will track them down" he said.
