Police are investigating an unlawful entry and stealing incident that occurred at about 2.30 am this morning at a residence in Gunn.

It is alleged the residence was entered through a rear sliding door before a male offender removed a television, handbag, mobile phone and an unknown amount of cash.

The alleged offender was disturbed by an occupant of the house and fled the scene.

Watch Commander Garry Smith advises, "Police are following leads and would like to remind the public to take time to check the security of their premises and ensure locks are working effectively".

Any one who may have any information that may assist police or sighted any persons acting suspiciously in the area over night are urged to call Police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
