Unlawful entries – Alice Springs

A 17-year-old youth will appear in court after he was arrested on the premises at Northside Foodland on Friday night.

Police received a report just after 10.30pm from a security guard that he had apprehended a male who had unlawfully entered the premises. The offender allegedly broke into the building through the roof and then tried to exit the premises by forcing a roller door. The security guard apprehended the youth and called police. The offender allegedly stole a packet of cigarettes before trying to leave the premises.

He has been charged with unlawful entry and stealing and has been bailed to appear in the Youth Justice Court today.

Meanwhile police are investigating a break-in at a Kurrajong Drive residence which was report just before 10am on Saturday. Offenders entered the house by removing a side window and then ransacked the premises before stealing a number of items including computer equipment.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicisou activity in the area to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 19800 333 000.

On Sunday afternoon police received a report that a caravan at the rear of a residence in Goyder Street had been unlawfully entered and a quantity of beer was stolen. Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Then around 9.45pm on Sunday night police received a report that the 8HA building on South Stuart Highway had been unlawfully entered. It is unclear at this stage if anything was stolen, however, forensic members attended the scene. Investigations are continuing.
