Members of the Darwin Youth Crime Unit arrested two males aged 16 and 17 yesterday in relation to an unlawful entry that occurred at a residence in Durack between Thursday 19 and Sunday 22 November.
It is alleged the pair gained entry to the premises a number of times whilst the owners were away on holidays, and stole a quantity of property which they later sold. They also located a set of car keys in the house and stole the owner's vehicle which they used before returning it to the garage.
The 16-year-old male has been charged with:
Aggravated unlawful entry (x5)
Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle
Stealing
Unlawfully damage property
Drive unlicensed
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
The 17-year-old male will be summonsed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court for the same offences.
