Katherine Police apprehended a 29-year-old male on Collins Road in Katherine at approximately 4:45 am this morning.

The man driving a green Holden Commodore led police on a short pursuit before fleeing the vehicle. The offender sustained injuries while scaling a paddock fence was apprehended in bush land approximately 150 metres from the road. A road side breath test revealed a positive blood alcohol content reading of 0.177 percent.

The offender was conveyed to Katherine Hospital immediately to receive treatment.

He will be summonsed to appear in court for driving under the influence and numerous other traffic offences.
