Suspicious Death Katherine

Katherine Detectives with the assistance of Major Crime Detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 43-year-old Aboriginal male in Katherine.

At about 6.50 am on Friday Saint John Ambulance was called to an unconscious male in the bushland behind BP Katherine on Railway Terrace.

The man was taken by ambulance to Katherine District Hospital and he was later flown out to Darwin for continued specialist treatment, however he died later that night.

Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Henrys stated, "It has been determined that the male suffered a head injury possibly as a result of an altercation. We believe this altercation took place at about 7.00 pm on Thursday and may have occurred where the man was located".
