Police and Fire and Rescue members are investigating a structure fire which occurred in Palmerston last night.

Members received reports at approximately 8:30 pm that a residence on Essington Avenue in Gray was alight.

Fire and Rescue members forced entry to the locked unit and extinguished the blaze that was located in two separate areas of the house.

The fire is currently being treated as suspicious and a crime scene has been established at the location as Fire Investigators and Forensics members attend.

Steve Osborne, Acting Assistant Director of the NT Fire and Rescue Service, urges anyone that may have information in relation to this event, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around 8:00 -8:30 pm, to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
