Police and Fire and Rescue crews were called to a structure fire at Humpty Doo yesterday.

At about 2:40 am police received a report of a large explosion and flames coming from the residence.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and a crime scene was immediately established.

Members from the Major Crime Unit, Forensic Unit and Palmerston Investigations Unit are currently conducting further investigations.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

There is no further information available at this time.
