Alice Springs Police are investigating a fire that occurred at a store on Gap Road last night.

Police and Fire and Rescue Service members were alerted to the fire at The Broken Spoke Bicycle Shop at approximately 9:45 pm.

Members attended and had to block off part of the road and move bystanders on as the attending members extinguished the blaze.

Guests staying at a nearby motel were also evacuated as a precaution.

St John Ambulance members also attended however no one was injured in the blaze.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing, however at this stage, it is not being treated as suspicious.
