Following further investigations, police believe the man assaulted two children at the Fannie Bay Yacht Club on Thursday night.

It appears the man approached a group of children playing in a secure play area through the fence.

The children went over to the man who has allegedly spoken to them before the children turned and ran away.

One of the children informed his parents immediately resulting in the alleged offender fleeing the area.

The man was arrested at his home address by Detectives yesterday afternoon and has been charged with a number of offences including two counts of aggravated assault and one count of deprivation of liberty.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on Tuesday 4 August.
