Northern Territory Police are reminding parents to talk to children about 'Stranger Danger' following a report of two incidents in a park in Moil.
This morning, 4 children have reported that a stranger has indecently exposed himself to them twice on both 10 March and 11 March between 3.30pm and 3.40pm.
Police received the report this morning from the Principle of Moil Primary School immediately after she received the report from the children involved.
Following searches of the surrounding area, Police have been unable to locate anyone matching the description of the alleged offender. He is described as Caucasian male in late teenage years, tall with straight, short brown hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and blue/black shorts.
Territory Duty Superintendent, Jamie Chalker said while every effort will continue to find the alleged offender, this is a timely reminder for parents to reiterate the 'Stranger Danger' message to their children,
"It is important that any such incidents are reported to Police immediately and I would encourage all parents across the Territory to sit down with their children and remind them of the four 'R's:
Recognise the danger
Refuse any offer
Run away
Report it to the first person they feel safe with.
"These incidents occurred in a public place, away from school premises. However, Moil Primary School is working closely with the School Based Constable and is actively involved in reinforcing the 'Stranger Danger' message." Supt Chalker said.
Northern Territory Police have not ruled out a possible connection between this incident and an unlawful entry and indecent assault which occurred on Harmanis Street, Wanguri early on Wednesday morning. However, both incidents will continue to be investigated as a priority.
Anyone with information in relation to either of these incidents or who may have seen someone matching the description in the Moil area around 3.30pm on 10 and 11 March or the Wanguri area between 1am and 7am on 11 March should contact Police immediately on 131 444.
