Stealing with violence - Parap

Police

Police are investigating an alleged stealing with violence incident which occurred on Saturday night.

It is believed the 27-year-old male victim left the Bass in the Grass concert at about 11:00 pm and walked towards the Parap area along the Stuart Highway. When he reached the intersection at Parap Road he was allegedly approached by a group of Aboriginal males asking for cigarettes.

After advising the men he did not smoke he was threatened with a knife and demanded to hand over a number of items. The victim had the following items stolen; Oakley sunglasses, Sony digital camera, Nike shoes, Nautica watch and a small amount of cash.

The offenders then left the scene walking along Parap Road.

The victim was picked up on Stuart Highway and taken home.

Two of the offenders are described as:

Of Aboriginal appearance
Wearing a black baseball cap with a red bandanna underneath it, baggy jeans and a baggy T shirt

Of Aboriginal appearance
Long hair
Wearing a baggy T shirt and baggy jeans

Police urge any one who was in the area at the time of the incident or may have further information to contact them on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
