Darwin Detectives are investigating a stealing incident that occurred in Darwin City early this morning.

It is alleged that a 19-year-old female German national was walking along Lindsay Street near McMinn Street when she was approached by a male.

After a brief conversation he subsequently stole her hand bag and ran to a nearby vehicle, described to be a medium sized light coloured four wheel drive with a bull bar and a tyre on the back.

The male offender is described as a Caucasian male in his mid twenties, well dressed, approximately 183 cm's tall and has a thin beard along his jaw line.
