Police have charged two people in relation to a stealing incident that occurred in Palmerston on Monday.

It is alleged that the two, a 46-year-old female and a 36-year-old male, entered the Gray Shopping Centre at approximately 5:20 pm and located a sum of money on the premises before attempting to flee the area.

The manager questioned them before removing the stolen cash bag from the female and apprehending the male.

Police located the female a short time later and conveyed them both to the Darwin Watch House.

It is believed that she was also involved in a number of other unlawful entries that have occurred during the past month and was subsequently charged with stealing (x3), unlawful entry and unlawfully possess property.

She was remanded in custody to appear in court today.

The 36-year-old male was charged with unlawfully possess property and bailed to appear 26 February.
