Single vehicle rollover – Berry Springs - 4374090

Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a crash that occurred in Berry Springs early this morning.

Between the hours of 3:00 am and 5:00 am it is believed that two people, a 15-year-old female and a 26-year-old male were travelling in a silver Holden Commodore along Cox Peninsular Road. The two had earlier been at a party in the Southport area.

It appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle, approximately 10 km's from the Stuart Highway, causing it to roll several times along the grass verge before crashing into a tree.

The pair were then taken to an address in McIntyre Road, Howard Springs by an unknown person. An ambulance was called and conveyed both injured persons to Royal Darwin Hospital, the 15 year old girl suffered internal injuries and may have to undergo surgery, the 26 year old man suffered minor injuries - Neither person was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Territory Duty Superintendent Rob Farmer said, "We are keen to speak to anyone else that may have been in the area at the time of the crash and would particularly like to speak to the person that gave the man and girl a lift from the crash scene to McIntyre Road, Howard Springs."
