Single Vehicle Roll Over - Anula

Police

At about 3:30 pm yesterday Police were alerted to a single vehicle roll over on Union Terrace in Anula.

It is believed the 16-year-old driver became distracted by her puppy and lost control of the silver Toyota Camry. The vehicle collided with a palm tree and a fence causing it to flip and come to rest on its roof.

A near by resident pulled the girl from the vehicle before Police and St John Ambulance personnel arrived on the scene. She was conveyed to RDH by ambulance with minor injuries.

The puppy was not injured in the crash.

The driver is expected to be issued with an infringement notice for driving without due care.

"Inattention behind the wheel as demonstrated by this crash creates a risk of injury and even death to road users".

"Please be careful when you are driving and drive responsibly within your capabilities to minimize the risk to the community", said Territory Duty Superintendent Michael Murphy.
