A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 38-year-old woman.

The alleged assault occurred in the early hours of Saturday 7 November in a house at a camp located in the Borroloola area.

The victim reported the matter to Borroloola Police and detectives from the Katherine Investigation Unit travelled to Borroloola to assist local police.

The man has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent and remanded in custody to appear in the Katherine Court today.
