Seven vehicles stolen - 4257410

Police have recovered five of seven vehicles that were stolen from Atlas Autos in Winnellie overnight.

Sometime between 6.00 pm last night and 1.00 am this morning unknown offenders have cut the chain to a fence at the caryard and entered the car sales lot containing approximately thirty vehicles for sale.

Seven vehicles were stolen including two Commodores, two Magna's, Mazda MX6, Toyota Camry station wagon, and a Daewoo Lanos Hatchback. Four of the vehicles have been recovered by police where they were left parked at different locations on the Stuart Highway.

Casuarina Police located one of the stolen vehicles, a Mazda MX6 on Calytrix Road, Karama and arrested two adult males and conveyed them to the Darwin Watch House and both are currently assisting police.

Two vehicles remain outstanding, a white Toyota Camry station wagon with NT registration 935-365 and a red Daewoo Lanos hatchback, NT registration number 558-024.

Police are appealing to the public if they see these two vehicles to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Anyone who may have been in the area of the caryard between 6.00 pm last night and 1.00 am this morning, and saw any suspicious persons or activity, is urged to call police.
