Serious assault - Palmerston – Call for witnesses

Police

Police are seeking assistance from the public in relation to the assault on a 46-year-old female that occurred in Palmerston early this morning.

It is alleged that the victim was walking along Temple Terrace, near the intersection of Essington Avenue, at approximately 6:30 am when she was assaulted by a male who struck her to the head with a large rock.

Several witnesses where in the area at the time and police are seeking their assistance in locating the offender.

One of the witnesses police are eager to speak to was seen on Essington Avenue and is described as a Caucasian female, aged approximately 40 years with short to shoulder length blonde/grey hair and was walking a small black and white dog at the time.


The male offender is described to be:

Of Aboriginal appearance
Approximately 185-190 cm tall
Medium build
Aged late 20's to early 30's
Short dark hair
Wearing a pair of khaki work shorts and no shirt.

Police are urging the witnesses described above, or anyone that has information in relation to this incident, to contact them on 131 444.
