Rollover - Maningrida

Police

It is alleged that the male was travelling on an unknown residential road within the community at approximately 5:30 am when he lost control of the green RAV 4 he was driving, causing it to roll several times before coming to rest on its roof in a front yard.

The male was ejected from the vehicle and was conveyed to the local clinic when Police and clinic members attended the scene. He has since been medivaced to Royal Darwin Hospital.

Katherine Crash Investigators flew to Maningrida that morning to investigate the incident and at this stage believe that alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors.

Constable Ian Wilton of Central Traffic Operations said "Police wish to remind everyone to take care on the roads especially during the school holiday period. In so many of these crashes simple decisions would save lives and reduce the senseless injuries people suffer and we all pay for".
