Robbery – Alice Springs

Police

Police are investigating the robbery of a pregnant woman on Bagot Street last night.

Police received a report shortly after 8.30pm of the robbery of a 22-year-old woman who is 9-months pregnant.

At approximately 7pm the woman was walking from Tunks Drive to the Alice Springs Hospital when two men approached the woman from behind and asked her if she had any money.

The woman ignored the men and continued walking when they again demanded money and threatened her.

Feeling scared she handed them money and continued walking towards Gap Road where she was then picked up by St Johns Ambulance and taken to hospital.

The men are described as Aboriginal both wearing dark clothing and dark coloured caps.

One of the men is described as tall with a solid build and a scruffy beard in his mid-30s and the other is described as short with a solid build in his early 20s.

Comfits of the men will be released by police later today.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Police on 131 444 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
