Ram raids – Alice Springs PROMIS 4425625, 4425647 & 4425657

Three men and a female youth were taken into Police custody following a series of ram raids on licensed premises in Alice Springs in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Shortly after 1.30 am it alleged that the offenders used a vehicle to ram the roller doors of Todd Tavern Bottle shop in an attempt to gain entry, however were unsuccessful in their attempt.

Shortly after 2.00 am it's alleged that the offenders used the same vehicle to ram the roller doors of the Bottle shop at the Gap View Hotel, before fleeing the area with a quantity of liquor.

Just before 3.00 am the offenders used the vehicle to ram the roller doors at the Flynn Drive Supermarket. It is alleged that they entered the supermarket and were in the process of removing alcohol form the premises when they were disturbed by patrolling security guards.

All four were arrested and the adults charged with numerous offences including;

Enter building with intent
Stealing
Damage property over $5000
Unlawfully damage property
Drive motor vehicle while unlicensed

They have been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

The juvenile was released from custody and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
