Pedestrians struck

Police

Police are investigating two separate motor vehicle incidents involving a 21-year-old female and an 8-year-old male youth that occurred yesterday.

At approximately 7:35 am it is believed that a 21-year-old female walked out in front of a bus on Progress Drive in Nightcliff.

She sustained minor injuries and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

Police responded to another incident in Bakewell at 2:45 pm when it was reported that an 8-year-old male youth had been struck whilst riding his bicycle on Hutchison Terrace.

It is alleged that the driver of Mitsubishi sedan was travelling along Hutchison Terrace when the youth rode out in front of the vehicle.

St John Ambulance members attended the scene and conveyed him to Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police would again like to remind drivers to be vigilant at all times, particularly whilst travelling through school zones.
