Police received a report that the victim had been trying to take photos of a car doing burn-outs in Blackmore Court, Gunn around 5.30pm when the alleged offender ran into him with his car. He then sped off, but police arrested the 27-year-old driver of the Ford Falcon Futura sedan at his home in Durack just after 10.30pm.

He has been charged with:

Drink driving
Driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle
Driving without due care
Recklessly endangering serious harm.
Fail to stop after a crash
Hit and run causing serious harm

The vehicle has been impounded by police. The 37-year-old victim suffered minor grazes.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
