OPERATION UNITE: A NATIONAL POLICE BLITZ ON DRUNKEN VIOLENCE

Police

Police Commissioners from across Australia and New Zealand gathered in Perth today for the launch of a united stand against drunken violence.
Thousands of extra police will be flooding capital cities and towns on Friday December 11th for a two day blitz aimed at tackling alcohol-fuelled crime and antisocial behaviour.
The crackdown - codenamed Operation Unite - is the first of its kind - a comprehensive and coordinated action by police forces in all states and Territories.
It will demonstrate the united resolve of Police Commissioners to change Australia and New Zealand's culture of binge drinking in public places, and challenge the drinking public to take greater responsibility for their conduct.
