Operation targets anti-social behaviour - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police tipped out more than 200 litres of liquor during a two-day operation targeting anti-social behaviour last week.

Conducted on Thursday and Friday night last week, the police operation targeted anti-social behaviour and offences against the Liquor Act and Traffic Act in the North side shops area, Town Camps, Town CBD and Amoonguna area.

During the operation 218 litres of liquor was destroyed, three arrests were made for alcohol related offences and 18 people were taken into protective custody.

Senior Sergeant David Chalker said the operation was one of many conducted by police to combat anti-social behaviour.

"Operations such as these are conducted regularly to discourage anti-social behaviour and monitor known area hot-spots."
