Operation RADO – two charged

At about 3.00 am yesterday police received a report of suspicious persons on Lorna Lim Terrace in Palmerston.

Palmerston General Duties' members attended and found that a residence had been unlawfully entered and an attempt had been made to steal a Ford Falcon sedan. Members obtained descriptions of the alleged offenders by several witnesses and a short time later they were located.

Two males aged 18 and 19 were arrested and conveyed to the Darwin Watch House where members of Operation RADO took carriage of the matter. Both males were later charged with:

Criminal damage
Unlawful entry
Stealing (x2)
Aggravated use of a motor vehicle

The 18-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today and the 19-year-old was bailed to appear in court on 5 February.
