A 25-year-old male was arrested in Darwin City on New Year's Eve as a part of Operation 'AZER II'.
During the evening it is alleged the man consumed a quantity of alcohol whilst in the Darwin CBD.
Around 10.45 pm it is alleged he walked into the path of an unmarked police vehicle, hitting the passenger side mirror with his hand before running off down Knuckey Street.
As a result the male was arrested and placed into custody at the Darwin Watch House, where he became aggressive using excessive force to smash a large glass window causing around $5 500 worth of damage.
The man has been charged with:
Walk without due care
Disorderly behaviour public place
Disorderly behaviour police station
Unlawfully damage property - value over $5000
He was bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrate's Court on 27 January.
