Police are investigating an alleged indecent assault that occurred in Marrara at about 4:30 yesterday.

It is alleged the 32-year-old woman was walking from Malak toward Carnoustie Crescent on McMillans Road when the incident occurred.

The woman pushing her child in a pram was indecently assaulted when a male approached her from the opposite direction and attempted to inappropriately touch her as he walked past.

The man fled the scene when the woman yelled at him.

The offender is described as in his teens of African appearance, short black hair, wearing a green and yellow shiny material T-shirt and black cargo shorts carrying a black back pack.

Police urge any one that may have witnessed this incident or who may have further information to contact them on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
