Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man at Maningrida in the early hours of this morning.

Police from Maningrida were called to Bottom Camp at the community in relation to a general disturbance around 1.30am today. As they arrived at the camp police found a man being mauled by a pack of dogs. They went to the man's aid and commenced CPR however the man died a short time later.

Members of the Major Crime Unit are investigating and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
