Just after 2:00 am this morning police received a report of an unlawful entry in Moulden.

A resident of the house notified police that an unknown person had entered the property and broken into the storeroom and was still on the premises.

Police from Palmerston Station were on the scene within three minutes of the original call and arrested the 28-year-old male offender.

It is alleged the offender had earlier attempted to enter a property near by.

The man was taken to Darwin Watch House where he is expected to be charged in relation to unlawful entry and attempted unlawful entry offences.
