Indecent Assault Update – Alice Springs - Comfit

Police have released a comfit of a man alleged to have indecently assaulted a 17-year-old female in Alice Springs this week.

Police received a report of an indecent assault in a laneway on Van Senden Avenue just after 4pm on Tuesday 9 June.

The victim told police she was walking down Van Senden Avenue shortly after 4pm when a man who was walking toward her asked her for a cigarette.

The woman said no and the man attempted the grab the woman, who blocked his attempted and continued walking.

The woman turned down a laneway off Van Senden and continued walking when the same male approached her from behind and grabbed her arm and assaulted her.

The victim managed to break free and ran away from the offender and shortly after contacted police.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged around 25-years-old, 170- 180cm tall with a slim build.

The offender is believed to be wearing a black Adidas t-shirt with yellow panelling under the arms, knee length black shorts, a black baseball cap and red long socks pushed down.
