Alice Springs Police are seeking public assistance in finding a man who allegedly indecently assaulted a woman at the weekend.

Police received a report of indecent assault of a woman just before 10pm on Saturday.

The 31-year-old woman told police she was driving out of the North side shops heading towards Tietkins Avenue when she stopped the car to give way to another vehicle.

While her car is stationary a man has allegedly opened the front passenger door and entered the vehicle. He produced a weapon threatening the woman and demanded her to continue driving.

He has then indecently assaulted the woman before fleeing from the car.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged 28 to 30-years-old, approximately 172cms tall with a stocky build and black curly hair.
