NT Fire and Rescue Investigators and NT Police are currently investigating a house fire in Galiwinku.

Attempts to extinguish the blaze commenced at approximately 9am this morning after an occupant of the house escaped and raised the alarm.

It is believed a 5-year-old child may have been inside the house.

The fire has been extinguished but the child remains missing. Police and the Community have fears for the child's safety and are currently making every attempt to locate the child.

NT Police Crime Scene Examiners, Major Crime Detectives and Fire Investigators are travelling to the community to assist local police with the investigation.
