Police are calling for witnesses to an alleged home invasion / assault that occurred in the Narrows last night, where a 48-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in his home around 10.00 pm.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 40-year-old man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or has information that could assist police, to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
