Police would like to thank a member of the public who assisted in locating an offender involved in a hit and run in Malak last night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 pm last night when a Nissan, driven by a 47-year-old female, drove out of Mueller Road and turned into oncoming traffic.
A 24-year-old male travelling on a motorcycle, was heading outbound along McMillans Road when the vehicle turned in front of him and he subsequently struck the drivers side door of the vehicle.
A male taxi driver witnessed the event and followed the vehicle as he reported the incident to police.
Members arrived at a residence in Coconut Grove, locating the vehicle and the 47-year-old female driver a short time later.
She was subsequently arrested and returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.167 percent and has since been charged with:
Recklessly endanger life - cause serious harm
Drive high range blood alcohol content
Drive unlicensed
Not stop after a crash.
She has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court 16 October.
