Five teenagers have been arrested following an unlawful entry at a home in Grant Road, Alice Springs overnight.

Police received a report just after 2.30am today that there were intruders on the premises of a home whose occupants were on holidays.

Police arrived and found the offenders had smashed a rear window to gain entry to the premises. Once inside the offenders stole a .177 calibre air rifle and a quantity of ammunition. They also stole a laptop and some wine.

Police investigations led to the arrest of four males aged 15, 16, 17 and 19 and a 13-year-old girl a short time later. They also recovered the air rifle and computer.

The teenagers are yet to be interviewed.
