A 19-year-old man was apprehended by police last night in relation to a firearm incident that occurred in the Lambells Lagoon area.

At about 8.00 pm police received a report that a person was discharging a firearm from a vehicle possibly at signs in the vicinity of Lambells Lagoon. A description of the vehicle was obtained and distributed to all police patrols.

The alleged vehicle, a blue Landcruiser soft-top, was apprehended about 11.00 pm on McMillans Road and police seized the firearm, a registered 12 gauge double barrel shotgun, and ammunition.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
