Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance personnel attended a three vehicle crash in Katherine yesterday afternoon.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 pm at the intersection of First and Warburton Streets.

A 63-year-old woman was conveyed to Katherine Hospital and died over night as a result of the crash.

Initial investigation indicates alcohol was not a contributing factor to the crash.

First and Warburton Streets have been closed this morning while members from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the exact cause of the crash and the surrounding circumstances.

This brings the road toll to 13 compared to 30 at the same time last year.
