NT Police, NT Fire and Rescue, NT Emergency Service and St John Ambulance are currently at the scene of a fatal car crash that occurred on Cox Peninsula Road, 23 kms from Mandorah at 5:00 pm this afternoon.
The crash resulted in the death of the driver, a 39-year-old Belyeun man.
Two passengers are being conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
Two other passengers were treated at the scene.
A crime scene has been established while further investigations are undertaken by the Northern Traffic Operations Section and the vehicle, a Holden Commodore, has since been moved off the road.
The Care Flight helicopter was contacted to assist in the transportation of medical support to the scene but was stood down shortly after.
In this early stage of the investigation it appears that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The Territory road toll now stands at 21 compared to 55 for the same period last year.
