Police

A 38-year-old man has died after the all-terrain-vehicle in which he was travelling overturned.

The accident occurred on private property on the Arnhem Highway approximately 40 kilometres along the Stuart Highway at around 7.30pm on Friday night.

Police were called to the property after the Yamaha ATV hit a buffalo wallow and overturned, killing the man. The only other occupant of the vehicle, a 39-year-old man, raised the alarm and police were called.

Police were told the men had been pig-hunting on the property when the accident occurred. The death does not impact on the territory road toll as it occurred on private property.

Palmerston police are investigating the incident.
