Emergency Response Vehicles Parade

Police

Members of the Tri-Service would again like to invite everyone to the Emergency Response Vehicle Parade that is to be held in Darwin City on Friday.

The Parade is to raise money for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal and will start at about 12:20 at the Darwin Fire Station on Woolner Road and will travel down Tiger Brennan Avenue, along Cavenagh Street, Knuckey Street, Mitchell Street and finishing on Daly Street.

District Officer Grant Hamon, Manager of the Community Fire Safety Division said that it should be an enjoyable way for members and the community alike to raise money for the victims of the Victoria Bushfires Appeal, while having a great time.

"The Parade is a joint initiative, made up of various vehicles including Police, Fire, Emergency Services, Bushfires NT, Aviation Rescue Firefighting Service, St John Ambulance and Red Cross.

"It is further supported by the Darwin City Brass Band who will join the parade on Mitchell Street.

"I'd like to encourage everyone to come along and support this lively event.

"It will be great to see Mitchell Street lined with people of all ages showing their support and Red Cross collectors will be there to collect donations.

"All proceeds raised go directly to those affected by the fires in Victoria" he said.

People are encouraged to gather on the footpath down Mitchell Street where officers from the services will walk down with Red Cross buckets and seek donations from the public.
